I personally believe that school public transportation and ride shares are extremely beneficial. Not only is this beneficial for society as a whole, but it’s also beneficial for the environment. Commuting to school using a carpool or public transportation system reduces traffic and harmful gasses in our air, and it also promotes new friendships and bonds.
My experience with school public transportation I would say has varied over the years. Starting back when I was in middle school, I used to drive my bike to school with my friends. Since this was around a fairly young age, this formed me into being more independent and finding convenient ways to get to school if my parents weren’t able to take me. Then when I started high school, I created a carpool with myself and a couple other girls. Since we were only freshmen with permits this was the best way to share a ride to school and make it more convenient for everyone, including the moms! Then for sophomore year, I started carpooling with a different friend, and she started picking me up every morning on her way to school. This was also super convenient because my house was on her way to school. This really helped my mom and I since we share a car and she has to use it more during the day. Not to mention I got to carpool everyday with my best friend. Sharing the ride really made our friendship grow and it made us a lot closer. Since I also have my license, while I don’t drive to school, I do help carpool a lot of my teammates to practice. This saves up a lot of time and gas, and it’s perfect because it makes sure we all get to practice on time. And this is for my high school volleyball team so it’s also beneficial for all the underclass men who don’t have their license yet and can’t drive.
Speaking on public transportation, I am a big fan of this as well and believe it’s incredibly beneficial and advantageous for a society. Since living in Miami I have used multiple different forms of public transportation like the trains, the metro, and the buses. There’s also other forms of transportation like the bikes and scooter available for renting on the sidewalks. My favorite though is the train and the buses. I feel as though the people are always very nice and welcoming on these types of transportation and it’s always a good service. Taking this route will always get you there on time and not to mention keep you comfortable the entire ride! In my opinion, ride share and carpools will always be my favorite and preferred method of traveling places just because it’s helpful towards the environment and it also creates very good friendships. Even though the rest of the public transportations isn't my favorite, I still keep an open mind to them because if anything they are helping the society and environment we live in more and are extremely crucial to some.
